Join Michael Flock as we learn valuable insights into how Flock Specialty Finance’s lead investor, David Fisher, co-founder and Chief Investment Officer of Signature FD, LLC, manages the firm which provides investment consulting and comprehensive wealth management to the firm’s high-net-worth families. David founded the firm and created a culture based on the scouting principles of leadership.

David’s primary responsibility is to lead the firm’s investment committee and to develop the long-term vision, policy and strategy. David has extensive experience with traditional investment strategies, including hedge funds, private equity, real estate and illiquid investments.

As a recognized expert in wealth management, he has received numerous industry acknowledgements, often speaks at conferences and seminars, and has been quoted frequently in articles for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Financial Advisor Magazine and Practical Accountant. He has also been named Atlanta magazine’s “FIVE STAR Best in Client Satisfaction Managers” and was named by Cobb Life as one of “Cobb County’s Top 40 Under 40.”

Here is a glimpse of what David shared in the interview.

David and his business partner, “spent two days putting together, a business plan, a mission statement around what we thought was a way to get into the wealth management business via a CPA firm environment… like Jerry Maguire, we slid it in the boxes of the partners at the CPA firm. And we took off Friday afternoon, and went home, and wanted to see what was going happen.”

David shares the importance of Boy Scout values in leadership development: “Rex Tillerson … currently serving the country as the Secretary of State, was the President of the Boy Scouts of America for a couple of years, while he was also the CEO at Exxon… He challenges anyone to look at the Scout Oath, and the Scout Law, and try to find something in there that’s missing from a leadership training perspective”.
